The resort town of Agia Pelagia is situated on the shore, with its whitewashed buildings built along the slopes of the hills rising from the bay. It is made up of a cluster of villages and smaller sandy beaches.

Directions by Plane & by ferry
  • HERAKLION AIRPORT to PELA MARE HOTEL AGIA PELAGIA: 20Km
  • HERAKLION PORT to PELA MARE HOTEL AGIA PELAGIA: 18Km

Whether you arrive by plane or boat, the same route is followed. Follow signs for the National Road leading to Rethymnon. They will be clearly marked from both the seaport and the airport. Stay on the national road until you cross the bridges of Pandanassa and Palaiokastron. Shortly after you will see a turning to your left that is clearly signposted for Agia Pelagia (you will have to cross the higway carefully). Follow the road down the mountain till you see a sign post after 300 meters on your left pointing the entrance of Pela Mare Hotel.

Follow the new National way to Rethymno and Heraklion.
As you are approaching Heraklion you will reach a sign Agia Pelagia on your right. Follow the road down the mountain till you see a sign post after 300 meters on your left pointing the entrance of Pela Mare Hotel.

Crete by Plane

Most visitors come to Crete directly by plane, especially by charter. There are however a number of other options. Almost all scheduled international flights transit through Athens where you must take a scheduled domestic flights to either Chania or Heraklion. These are quite frequent (around 10 a day to Chania and more to Heraklion) and run by several companies.
